Who is Rick Brown

You won't find his work in local art galleries, however; Rick Brown's colorful illustrations are widely displayed throughout the country. A commercial artist with a national reputation, Brown's impressive client list includes Disney, NFL properties, Universal Studios, Milton Bradley, Chevron USA and the Bradford Exchange. Examples of his work include movie posters and video covers for Disney, billboards for Chevron and collectible sports hero plates for the Bradford Exchange. Brown's illustrations are typically done in acrylic with a mix of brush painting and airbrush.

Born and raised in Omaha, Brown attended UNO then left the city to further his art studies in California. He studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and earned a BFA in Illustration from Long Beach State. He freelanced briefly then landed a staff artist position with the noted illustrators Dave Willardson and Charlie White. In 1984, Brown returned to freelance work and eventually moved back to Omaha where he and his wife raised their three children. Brown operates his business, Rick Brown Illustration, Inc., from his home studio in Omaha.
